Ashwini Chhabra
Director of the Urban Innovation Fellows Initiative
Ashwini Chhabra is the inaugural Director of the Hub’s new Urban Innovation Fellows Initiative. Building on a 25+ year career that spans law, government and startups, he is excited to build out this initiative which will recruit seven elite Urban Innovation Fellows with a breadth of experience in both the public and private sectors to work directly in New York City government agencies to undertake projects that accelerate technology adoption in the public sector.
Prior to joining Cornell Tech, Ashwini was the Chief Public Policy Officer of TIER Mobility, a Berlin-based micromobility operator with operations in over 500 cities across Europe. He previously established and led the Policy Development teams at Uber and Bird and also held several positions in transport policy in Mayor Bloomberg’s administration, including as a Senior Advisor in the Mayor’s Office. Ashwini began his career as a corporate lawyer.
