Meg Young is a researcher who studies how to make information systems more accountable to the public. She works with public agencies and advocacy groups on capacity-building for digital rights, public participation, and technology governance. Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Cornell Tech Digital Life Initiative, where she worked with the NYC Office of the CTO to develop the NYC AI Strategy and its digital rights assessment. She spent years working on urban tech in the City of Seattle, earning her Ph.D. at the University of Washington Information School in the UW Tech Policy Lab.
