Rohit “Rit” Aggarwala
Inaugural Urban Tech Fellow
Before joining the Urban Tech Hub as a Senior Fellow, Rit was a member of the team at Sidewalk Labs, an urban innovation firm. He is also the co-chair of the Regional Plan Association’s Fourth Regional Plan for the New York metropolitan area and an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. From 2006 to 2010, Rit served as Director of New York City’s Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability, which was created to develop PlaNYC: A Greener, Greater New York .
In January of 2022, Rit left the Urban Tech Hub to lead the NYC Department of Environmental Conservation and take on the role of the city’s Chief Climate Officer.
